It is an Electronic Moisture Meter widely used for Paper, Wood and Corrugated boxes. The hand closes naturally around the ergonomic form of the housing so that the pins on the end of the instrument can be pressed into the sample being analyzed. The thin pins make it easy to measure the moisture content of sawn timber; chipboard and fiber-board materials up to a maximum thickness of 25 mm. The instrument comes complete with probes and pencil cell battery; Display in % RH.

Significance

Moisture content of wood is generally measured as a ratio of the weight of water to the weight of solids, expressed in percentage.
