The testing instrument is designed in compliance with various standards that are introduced by national and international standardized authorities. The device is very easy to operate as it is designed with user-friendly features. The device provides reliable, repeatable and accurate test results. Presto manufactures two melt Flow Instruments. First one is a base model i.e. deluxe model of MFI, and another upgraded model is NXG model.

Presto’s Melt Flow Instruments are the widely used and high-quality of test machines that are designed with the microprocessor based PID temperature controller. This helps to set the temperature of the machine from ambient to 400oC. The testing machine provides the facility to set appropriate load and temperature to melt the polymers at a standard level of temperature under specific load. The instrument is designed using the best quality of raw material that ensures the accuracy and reliability of the results and durability of the instruments for an extended period of time.

To perform the test using MFI tester, 4-5 grams of granules are poured into the cylindrical vessel and then provided with the piston and specific amount of load to create extrusion inside the heated barrel. After that, the temperature of the vessel is set between 0oC to 400oC to melt the polymers. The device automatically cuts the specimen after a period of ten minutes that helps to calculate the MFI in grams per 10 minutes.
