Presto manufactures premium quality of rub scuff tester to measure the rub resistance of the printed labels and materials. The instrument is also used to evaluate the quality of the printed materials by measuring the abrasion resistance of the products by placing the specimen on the device and applying a number of strokes of scuffing on the material to test the color consistency and print consistency of the material.

The testing equipment Rub Scuff Tester is designed to evaluate the rubbing resistance of the printed materials on boards or paper. The device is also used to assess the colorfastness of printed surfaces during rubbing. The application of scuffing strokes can be enhanced to measure the abrasion resistance of plastic materials and aluminum foils. To perform the test using Presto’s Rub Scuff Tester, take two samples of substrates and rub them against each other in the same plane using the constant pressure of 2 p.s.i. with a fixed speed of 60 RPM. The number of strokes or rubs can be set easily from the digital panel of the device. This machine is used to measure the variation in print quality between different materials from various batches. The higher the rub resistance of printed material better will be its print quality and low rub resistance indicates poor print quality.
