One of the most common measures of the quality of a fabric is the number of threads per unit length, in both the warp and weft directions (wrap is the yarn woven in the vertical of the fabric & weft is the yarn woven across the width/ horizontal of the fabric lengthwise). The Traverse Thread Counter utilizes a motorized traveling microscope, for viewing the weave of the fabric under test.
Openings of known widths are provided to enable picks and ends per unit length, which is determined both in Metric and Imperial Systems. Traverse Thread Counter is a simple model with modern stylish aesthetics. All other parts are made of Stainless Steel; its robust construction ensures trouble free, life long operations.
A 10x traveling microscope is in-built; with reference line inside it to magnify the fabrics for accurate checking of the specimen thread. Two filament illumination arrangements are provided on the basic plate, which has translucent plastic panel for the effective view of the specimen.
The Traverse thread counter that I bought from Presto has been a very efficient instrument in providing the exact count of the threads in the warp and weft direction of a fabric. Very satisfied with the efficiency and performance of the instrument.
