Testing Instruments By Standards
Standard Method for Carbon Black Content in Olefin Plastics
The standard test method includes the evaluation of the carbon black content in polyethylene, polybutylene and polypropylene plastics. The use of such plastics acrylic or any other polar monomer amendment, which can influence the accurateness is not suggested. Analysis of carbon black content is made gravimetrically after pyrolysis of the test specimen under nitrogen. This standard method is not applicable to compositions that contain non-volatile fillers or pigments other than carbon black to the materials that contains brominated flame retardant additives in the end.
