IS 2454:1985 is an industrial standard that is used in textile industries for testing quality of the textile products. The standard specifies the test methods with the help of which the color fastness of the a textile fabric is determined against daylight or artificial light. This standard is important to follow for the textile industry as color fastness to daylight is an important aspect of the product for consumers. The artificial light source used in the test method is the xenon lamp. This standard specifies the test methods as well as the method of preparation of the test specimen for repeatability of test results.
