It is important to estimate the resistance of vulcanized rubber to cracking when exposed to an atmosphere containing ozone. The Presto Ozone test Chamber is used to provide precise and accurate ozone (O3) concentration environment for rubber and polymer testing. During the test rubber specimens are kept under a surface tensile strain, and the ozone content or partial pressure in the test chamber is maintained at a fixed level. This instrument provided the simulation of accelerated aging and designed to assess the ability of molded/extruded rubber products to withstand cracking resistance.
The test procedure can be widely applied to:
• Accelerated ageing research
• Quality control and assurance tests and
• R& D laboratory formula experiments for cracking resistance.
The ozone concentration in the Presto Ozone Test chamber can be adjusted over a wide range (normal 20-250 pphm; or according to customer’s request) thus, satisfying different user requirements. The exact ozone concentration is controlled and measured accurately by means of a precise detecting system.
A state-of-the-art systems controller maintains rapid resumption of O3 concentration during continuous circulation. The equipment is fully automatic and is equipped with user friendly settings.
The Presto Ozone Test chamber enables sample comparison which can be carried out on specimens prepared from the test slabs or molded/ extruded rubber products. The equipment strictly adheres to ASTMD 1149; D1171; D3395; ISO Standard 1431l/ll/Hl and IS 3400 Part 20. ISO 1431 & JIS K6259 standards. It comes complete with instruction manual. Electric wiring diagram and calibration certificate traceable to NABL approved labs.
Testing the effect of Ozone gas on my rubber gaskets has become very easy with the help of Presto's Ozone Chamber. Now I can easily the test the endurance of the products with great accuracy and ensure best quality of gaskets delivered to my clients.
