How Does The Preform Perpendicularity Tester Work?

How Does The Preform Perpendicularity Tester Work?

PET materials are widely employed in a variety of sectors to meet packaging needs. Beverage manufacturing industries, food manufacturing industries, pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, chemical manufacturing industries, and many more industries make use of PET products to ensure that the materials are perfectly delivered. Thus, we at Presto Testing Instruments have come up with one of the amazing lab testing equipment known as a preform perpendicularity testerThis lab testing instrument has been designed in accordance with industry standards and has been based on the principle to test the accuracy of the shape and size of preforms.

The shape and size of a preform have a significant impact on the quality of the end product that it produces. Manufacturers in the preform sector must assess the shape and size accuracy of the Preforms used in the production of various PET goods like bottles and containers. Here in this article, we are going to provide you with information about how to check the perpendicularity of bottles with the help of this lab testing equipment.

Why it is important to check the perpendicularity of PET bottles?

Perpendicularity or uniformity of the bottles is one of the primary concerns that affect the quality of the Preforms. It will be seen as an essential quality flaw if the preform and is not excellent in terms of perpendicularity or balance. This will have a direct impact on the quality of PET goods. Thus, with Presto preform perpendicularity testing equipment it will be easy for you to check the quality of PET bottles and when there is a failure in its quality, then you can easily get aware of it beforehand through effective testing. Thus, with the Presto perpendicularity tester, it will be easy for you to verify the non-uniformity of PET products that indicates the failures in the quality of bottles.

Presto preform perpendicularity tester is the perfect solution for creating the uniformity of PET bottles and has been designed in accordance with zero tolerance range to measure its perpendicularity. There are some factors that can affect the perpendicularity of PET bottles so you need to take care of these factors beforehand.

But the question is, how does this perpendicularity tester work. Below we have listed the working of this lab testing equipment.

Steps to commence the test using Presto perpendicularity tester

High-quality testing equipment and established test techniques are used to assure the quality of PET goods. The shape and size of PET goods are important factors in determining product quality and consistency. If the size and shape of the preform are not ideal and consistent, then it will indicate a significant quality flaw. Below we have listed the steps that will be done in indicating the test using the Presto perpendicularity tester.

  • Place the Magnetic Stand on the base plate of the perpendicularity tester by the knob ON/OFF.
  • Adjust the dial gauge shaft on the rod according to the sample.
  • Mark 4 points on the preform in 360 degrees that the user needs to test.
  • Put the sample on the perform holder in such a manner that the gauge knob touches point 1 and presses up to 2 mm. At this point set the gauge to zero.
  • Now rotate the sample manually to point 2, if the reading remains zero it means the sample is perfectly perpendicular and if the reading increases or decreases it means it is not perpendicular.
  • Now rotate the sample to point 3 and then to point 4 and measure the deviation in the Preform perpendicularity (if any) from the digital gauge.

In this way, you can easily conduct the test using the Presto preform perpendicularity tester. If there is a deviation in the reading from one point to another, it means the preform is not perfectly perpendicular. Now, let us focus on its features and technical specifications.
