The Charpy impact tester is named after a famous scientist who invented the technique of evaluating the impact resistance of hard plastics that are used in variable industries ranging from aeronautical to electrical appliances.

Hard plastic materials are utilized in the manufacturing process of products that are majorly exposed to the environment which makes them highly prone to accidents & jeopardies.

To ensure the durability of the product, these hard plastics are assessed on their impact resistance with the help of a pendulum-basis hammer impact mechanism in which the specimen is placed in a vertically aligned clamping assembly and the hammer strikes the specimen, forcing it to break into two halves.
