Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the 180-degree peel adhesion strength of pressure-sensitive materials applied to standard test panels under controlled environmental conditions. During testing, the adhesive-coated strip is applied onto a stainless steel panel using a specified roller pressure and dwell period for uniform bonding. The free end of the specimen is then peeled back at 180 degrees using a tensile or peel testing machine operating at a constant speed. The system continuously records the force required for separation, and the average peel adhesion value is calculated over the test length. The method also includes observation of failure modes such as adhesive separation, cohesive failure, or face stock damage.
