Presto Bursting Strength tester is a digital based model which complies with several test standards including ASTM D 3786-01, ASTM D 3786 – 80A, and ISO 1060 PART-1 1987. Uses microprocessor program for accurate test results. Digital LED display screen which allow user to read ‘live test’ data. The applied load is indicated on screen with high precision. Manual operating wheel for managing the sample clamping. Grooved circular test area for sample placement. The grooves ensure that no slippage occurs during the test process.

To initiate the test, the paper board sample is first cut out in a circular shape and placed on the sample area. Below that is a rubber diaphragm which inflates on application of pressure and exert vertical bursting load on the specimen surface to burst. The force value at which the paperboard will rupture will be recorded as the bursting strength of the specimen.

Bursting strength tester application varies in several industries. However, the major use is in the packaging industry. It is suitable for testing paper, carton sheet, corrugated fibreboard, foils etc.
