How to Set PID Controller of Presto Heat Sealer

The thermoplastic material will get shrink when a sufficient amount of heat will be provided to them. From wrapping consumable items to cosmetic products, these thermoplastics can easily be used in various manufacturing and packaging units. Thus, to check the strength and quality of packaging material, you can easily make use of the Presto laboratory heat sealer

This highly advanced testing instrument will let you deliver error-free thermoplastic materials and reduce your product rejection rates. It will be used to seal the flexible packaging products and other thermoplastic materials. Here in this blog, we are going to provide you with information about laboratory heat sealers from Presto Testing Instruments. We will also discuss the easy steps through which you can set the PID controller of this lab testing instrument.

Determine the seal strength of thermoplastics with Presto heat sealer

In the packaging material testing laboratories, the Presto heat sealing machine can be used for various research and analysis purposes. This lab testing equipment is capable of creating very high temperatures for testing and studying the effect on different thermoplastic materials that are used in plastic and packaging industries and other industrial laboratories. This is a tabletop model that comes with a robust design to work efficiently in harsh working conditions.

The main purpose of using this standardized lab testing equipment in the packaging industries is to seal one thermoplastic to another or similar thermoplastic using heat and pressure. The direct contact method of heat sealing utilizes a constantly heated die or sealing bar to apply heat to a specific contact area or path. You can easily determine the seal strength of materials to make them safe and secure for further use. There is a PID controller provided with the instrument that is best for controlling the temperature with high accuracy. There is a dwell timer provided with the machine which is used for setting the testing time up to 99.9 seconds.

Now, let us discuss the features and technical specifications of this lab testing equipment.

Here we have listed the steps to set PID controller with ease.

Steps to set PID controller of Presto heat sealer

To set the PID controller of the Presto industrial heat sealer, you can easily follow the below-mentioned steps. These easy steps will let you control the temperature with high accuracy.

Step 1: Setting the SET value

  1. Press the AT button to go into SET value mode. Pressing this button will show a dot blinking on the SET Value display.
  2. Pressing that button multiple times will shift the dot to the next digit on the SV display.
  3. Press the upward or downward arrow to adjust the value on the SV display.

Step 2: Setting of Configuration lock to Zero

  1. Press the anti-clockwise rotate switch to enter the parameter menu.
  2. Pressing the anti-clockwise rotate switch four times will display LOC on the PV display and some value on the SV display.
  3. Press the RUN or STOP button to adjust the value to zero.

Step 3: Setting Of Input for RTD Pt-100 Sensor

  1. Press the rotatory switch to enter the parameter menu.
  2. Enter the password 808 in the SV display by following the procedure for setting the SV value.
  3. Press the rotatory switch 11 times. This will show InP on PV display and some value on SV display.
  4. Press the RUN & STOP button to adjust the value to 21. It is the input value to the RTD Pt-100 sensor.

Step 4: Turning Auto Tuning On/OFF

  1. Press AT button for three seconds.
  2. This will show “At” on the PV display and the OFF value on the SV display.
