Glossy laminates, commonly utilized in various packaging materials, have become increasingly popular due to their visually appealing and sleek appearance. However, it is imperative that these laminates be rigorously tested against friction properties to ensure the optimal functionality of the packaging. To make it easy for the paper and packaging manufacturers to conduct quality tests on the materials, we at Presto have designed a high-quality lab testing instrument known as a coefficient of friction tester. This is one of the high-quality lab testing equipment that can easily test the sliding friction of plastic films and sheets when they slide over each other at specified test conditions.
The Importance of Testing Glossy Laminates for Co-efficient Friction

How to perform a slip test on glossy laminates with a Presto co-efficient friction tester?
- Cut the sheet according to the size of the glass approximately of size 53 x 15 x 1mm.
- The sample is placed over the glass sheet.
- This provides a smooth support for the specimen.
- Place the test sample on the glass slab.
- Tighten the sample across the glass slab with the help of fly screws attached at the corner.
- Take the slide block to the extreme left using the toggle switch.
- Now attach the test block to the slide block with the help of a string in such a manner that the load cell must not touch the fly clamp.
