The instrument is compact with user-friendly features enabling the user to test the quality of boxes using the simple testing procedures. The corrugated boxes are used by most of the packaging industries to store and deliver the food, beverages and other goods. In the case of transit when long term storage is expected, extra resistance and moisture resistance needs to be tested using the testing instrument.

The corrugated box testing equipment is used to check the additional resistance a box can tolerate because during transit or storage, the boxes are kept stacked and there is the scope of damage caused by overload or overpressure of boxes. It is necessary that boxes should have sufficient compression so that they could not get damaged. During the testing procedures with the help of instrument, a sample of the box is placed on the flat platform and then pressed down from the top with the help of another flat plate. This helps in calculating the precise amount of pressure a box can tolerate and contributes to use boxes of sufficient strength.

The strength of the box is measured, based on size and dimensions of the box, storage techniques (e.g., stacking issue), and material properties. Besides calibration certificate traceable to NABL approved labs, Presto supplies the testing instrument with an instruction manual and electric wiring diagram.
