The Pin Hole Tester, also known as the Light Box, is a testing instrument manufactured by Presto Stantest Pvt. Ltd. (Presto Group) and used to detect pinholes in aluminum foils used in pharmaceutical packaging. Pinholes are micro leaks in the foil surface that can reduce the shelf life or stability of the product they are used to protect.

When we use thin aluminum foil, it can have tiny holes in it. These holes are so small you need to look to see them. They let air and moisture get into the package. This can make the things inside the package go faster. If there are many of these tiny holes in the aluminum foil, it can really hurt how long the package will last and how stable it is. So it is very important to check for these holes in the aluminum foil to make sure the package is good.
