The Preform Winner is a high-precision, non-contact optical system that measures multiple PET preform dimensions in a single one-click capture, backed by 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software for full electronic traceability.
Ideal for PET preform, packaging, and QC labs seeking fast, accurate, operator-independent inspection with complete audit-ready data records.
Preform Winner – One-Click Optical Measurement System with 21 CFR Part 11 Compliant Software
The Preform Winner is a high-precision, non-contact optical measurement system built for fast, repeatable inspection of PET preforms. Using double telecentric lens optics, a 20MP industrial CMOS camera, and intelligent sub-pixel edge detection, it captures and measures multiple critical dimensions — neck diameter, thread geometry, collar and body diameter, overall length, gate diameter, radii, angles, and more — in a single image, with no physical contact and no operator guesswork.
Each inspection completes in under two seconds, delivering pass/fail results with full measured values, accuracy up to ±50μ, and repeatability up to ±30μ. Custom, user-defined dimensions can also be configured to match specific part requirements.
Paired with VisionOne PRESTO, our 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software, the system adds a complete digital quality backbone: password-protected access control, electronic records and signatures, secure audit trails, date/time stamping, batch-wise data storage, and tamper-evident record management. Historical data is easily searched, retrieved, and backed up, with automatic, non-editable PDF reporting for full traceability.
Designed for PET preform manufacturers and quality teams across beverage, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, edible oil, injection moulding, and QC laboratory environments, the Preform Winner minimizes operator dependency while ensuring every part is measured consistently — and every measurement is fully traceable.

Q: Can I retrieve old records, and are reports editable after they're generated?
A: You can retrieve historical records at any time. We have backup systems in place so historical records do not get lost. The system generates reports automatically. Saves them as non-editable PDF files of historical records. This means that once a report of records is created, the data in the historical records stays locked and cannot be changed, which is important for keeping track of historical records.
Q: How is data organized for different products and production batches?
A: Product recipe management lets you save and reuse measurement configurations for different parts, so switching between jobs is quick. Data is also stored batch-wise, making it easy to review specific production runs or compare results across batches.
Q: Are inspection records kept on computers? Can they be approved online?
A: The data is captured using electronic records management. This means that there are no paper logs and no one has to enter information by hand. The system is set up so that people can sign things electronically. Approvals and sign-offs are done on the computer. They are still good and ready to be looked at if needed. The electronic signatures are valid. Everything is in order. Electronic records management is used to capture all the data.
Q: How does the system decide who can operate it?
A: Access is controlled by passwords and logins. The system uses role-based user management. This means people who are allowed to can make the system work. They can change settings. Agree with results. Every action done on the system is linked to one person. This makes it clear who did what at every step. The system keeps track of what each person does. This way, we know who is using the system and what they are doing.
Q: What dimensions can the Preform Winner measure?
A: The Preform Winner captures neck diameter, thread geometry, collar and body diameter, overall length, gate diameter, radii, and angles—all in a single image. It supports custom, user-defined dimensions, so one can configure it to match the specific measurement requirements of your PET preform designs.
