BS 6319-7

BS 6319-7

BS 6319-7 is a British Standard that specifies test procedures for the tensile strength of resin and polymer/cement construction materials. This section of BS 6319 tests the tensile resistance of resin-based mortars and concretes by casting a dumbbell-shaped test specimen in the form of a briquette and provides a framework for assessing the tensile resistance of such mortars and concretes. Presto Stantest offers state-of-the-art testing equipment that interfaces with BS 6319-7 specifications, allowing laboratories, contractors, and quality control personnel to efficiently and accurately test construction-grade resin formulations for tensile strength in a reproducible manner.

Significance

It is a basic criterion that has a strong effect on the ability of building materials for resisting tensile forces without breaking. The testing to BS 6319-7 provides priceless information for allowing engineers to confirm the structural integrity of resin-based mortars and concrete used in repair, bonding, and flooring applications. Understanding accurate tensile data can help in choosing appropriate materials, meeting project requirements, and reducing the risk of material failure prematurely. Presto's precision instruments deliver consistent, reliable load measurements that meet the exactness demanded by this standard.

Scope

The standard does not apply to unfilled systems, materials with fibrous constituents, or to materials that contain fillers that will not pass a 3.35 mm test sieve in accordance with BS 410. BS 6319-7 is part of the wider BS 6319 series of standards that give test methods for resin and polymer/cement compositions for use in construction, such as compressive strength, flexural strength, bond strength, density, creep, and thermal properties.
