Significance and Use

IEC 61730-2:2023 is an international safety testing standard that tests PV modules in terms of mechanical, electrical, and environmental safety performance. The standard will enable the manufacturers to investigate durability, structural integrity, adhesive bonding performance, and operation safety of solar PV modules applied in energy systems of residences and commercial and industrial applications. It helps in the identification of potential hazards, including electrical shock, fire hazards, mechanical failure, and material degradation under long-term service situations.
