Scope
This standard specifies a tensile test method for determining the maximum tensile strength of light conveyor belts under controlled laboratory conditions. Test specimens are prepared from the full belt thickness and tested in the longitudinal direction using a tensile testing machine at a specified crosshead speed. The maximum tensile force recorded during testing is used to calculate tensile strength in force per unit width. The method may also be used for measuring breaking force and elongation at break when required. Testing is conducted on multiple specimens to obtain representative average results for conveyor belt performance evaluation.
