Why is Coating Thickness Measurement Important for Every Industry?

Paints are coatings act as a protective layer and protect the surface from any environmental damages. While undertaking a paint job it is very important to deliver the high-performance coating, so that its purpose can be fulfilled. There are two factors that decide the performance are; quality of the paint and thickness of the coating. There is a notion that high thickness of paint gives better protection. But this is not always the case. Thick coating may give uneven texture finish and may initiate easy cracking of paints due to external forces. And, if the surface has cuts and grooves, having thick coating is definitely a bad idea.
